Medicare Savings Programs
Your state runs Medicare Savings Programs that can help pay your Part B premium, and sometimes deductibles and coinsurance. Income and resource limits vary by state, and many people who qualify never apply.
Dual eligibility
People who have both Medicare and Medicaid are called “dual eligible.” Medicaid may help cover costs Medicare doesn’t. There are special Medicare Advantage plans (called D-SNPs) designed for people with both.
How to apply
Contact your state Medicaid office. Your local State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) also offers free, unbiased counseling.
